Start With a Consultation

There are some initial steps to take before you can achieve your dream baby pink color. 

Firstly, if you are a new client, it’s standard practice for your stylist to meet you in person—ideally—48 hours before the service to carry out a skin test to make sure you are not allergic to any of the colors being used. During the consultation, a few more tests will take place, such as a porosity and strand test, to see if your hair is suitable for the recommended color applications.

Don’t worry; your trusted stylist will take care of all this, allowing you to focus on being inspired by browsing through some fun hair colors. If you have any specific looks in mind, bring them to your consultation or pin/save them on your socials.

Preparing for Your Transformation

The perfect shade of baby pink needs to suit your skin tone, existing hair color, hair type, and of course your personality! The color, placement, and chosen techniques can be customized to achieve a bespoke bold or natural new look. 

To achieve a on trend pastel or soft baby pink color, the hair must be at least a natural level 8 or already be lightened. As a general guide, the lighter the shade of pink desired, the lighter the hair should be. A baby pink color is best suited on a level 9/10. Once the placement is chosen and the hair has the perfect undertone, your stylist will apply a toner to neutralize any unwanted warmth. This step is crucial to remove any traces of yellow or orange tones, which could affect the baby pink color and result in a color correction. Once the perfect undertone is achieved, the desired pink tone will be applied. It’s common to have a three-step color process when opting for a brand new look, so come prepared for a longer appointment.
